Corfu
Overview
Corfu — or Kerkyra, as we Greeks call it.
This island is often called “Italian” — thanks to its Venetian heritage, architecture, squares, and narrow streets where every turn feels made for a photograph.
But Corfu is much deeper. It is an island with character, history, and a unique energy.
You can read a lot about it.
But it’s better to see it.
You can visit Corfu in two ways:

One-day trip

An overnight stay on the island
The richness of the route and the number of places we will be able to visit depend on your choice.
This trip is tailored individually to your interests: pilgrimage, nature, beaches, palaces, gastronomy, or everything combined.
It is possible to combine the tour with Meteora — after the excursion, we can head directly to the island.
If without overnight stay
- Departure — around 2:30 AM (starting point — Thessaloniki).
- About 3 hours to the ferry and another hour and a half by sea — and we are already on the island.
Saint Spyridon — the Heart of Corfu
The morning on the island begins at the Church of Saint Spyridon — the patron and protector of Corfu.
Saint Spyridon is not just a shrine of the island. He is its heart and breath. And for us, Orthodox Christians, he is living faith, help and protection. Saint Spyridon rests in his church in the very center of the old town. For us, he is not history, but living assistance and intercession. The people of Corfu believe: as long as the Saint remains on the island, the island remains under his protection.
We will enter the church calmly and reverently, venerate the holy relics, light candles and pray. There is no rush here. There is silence, gratitude, and a special inner feeling of closeness. And this is where the true acquaintance with Corfu begins.
Afterwards — a walk through the Old Town, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Spianada Square — one of the largest squares in Europe, the heart of island life. The squares, arcades, and arches are all filled with the Venetian spirit.
Free time: coffee, photos, light lunch.
Then transfer to the picturesque area of Paleokastritsa.
Optional boat trip (about 40 minutes) with visits to sea caves and swimming in the turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea.
We will visit the ancient monastery with a miraculous 7th-century icon.
Optional visit to Achilleion Palace — the residence of Empress Elisabeth of Austria (Sisi).
Kanoni
Kanoni is one of the most iconic panoramic views of Corfu.
The Monastery of Panagia Vlacherna on its long pier and the lush Pontikonisi — the “Mouse Island” — have become the island’s calling card.
Nearby is Corfu Airport, and airplanes approach for landing literally overhead.
It is an impressive sight: a massive airliner flies so low that it feels as if you could reach out and touch it.
This is where the most spectacular photos of take-offs and landings against the backdrop of the sea are taken.
If you wish, you can take a boat to Pontikonisi.
In the evening, we return to the ferry.
If staying overnight
The route becomes deeper and more relaxed.
We will visit one of the island’s most beautiful beaches — the morning will begin with coffee by the sea.
We will explore traditional villages where ancient olive trees over 1,200 years old still grow.
We will visit a production of kumquat liqueurs and jams — the signature product of Corfu.
We will climb to a viewpoint offering a breathtaking view of the “three hearts” of Kerkyra.
This version of the journey allows you to experience the island without haste and truly feel its rhythm.
And once you find yourself here, you will understand why we Greeks love it so much!
