Thassos — the island of turquoise waters

Kavala
Overview
We set off in the morning and head toward the port.
On the way, we pass Kavala — a beautiful coastal city with amphitheater-style houses and a scenic waterfront.
Then — the ferry.
The moment the ship leaves the shore, with seagulls around and the sea shimmering in every shade of blue — that’s when the island begins.
The ferry takes about 50 minutes — and we arrive in Thassos.
Marble Beach
One of the island’s most iconic spots.
White marble pebbles and bright turquoise water — exactly what people come here for.
We swim, relax, and take photos — they always turn out stunning here.
After the sea, we head higher up — to a mountain stone village.
Quiet streets, traditional houses, panoramic views, and greenery.
A perfect place for a peaceful walk and lunch at a local taverna — simple and delicious Greek cuisine.
And of course, the Monastery of Archangel Michael.
Perched on a cliff above the sea,
it’s a sacred place and offers one of the most breathtaking views on the island.
In the evening, we return to the ferry and head back.
The day goes by quickly, but leaves the feeling of a complete island escape.
